First released by Louis Vuitton in 1934, the ‘Alma’ Bag design shows its art deco origins with a structured dome shape that has been meticulously perfected for over a century. The first inspiration for the ‘Alma’ Bag came in 1901 with Louis Vuitton’s ‘Steamer’ Bag that was designed for storing linens while traveling. Then, at the request of Coco Chanel (allegedly), the ‘Steamer’ was re-designed into the ‘Squire’ to become a bag for daily wear in 1934. In 1955, the ‘Squire’ was re-designed to become the ‘Champs-Élyées’ that then eventually became the ‘Alma’ in 1992. The ‘Alma’ bag has been released in a variety of sizes, and this ‘Alma PM’ bag is the smallest model. Luckily, the ‘Alma PM’ provides plenty of space for everyday items and safely secures them with the top zipper pocket opening. The original dust bag and lock and key are included.
Condition: Great. There is minor scuffing throughout the exterior canvas and leather of the bag. The exterior hardware, including the lock and keys, have moderate scuffing. There are minor stains on the interior lining. The original dust bag is included.
